What did you do this past week?

I spent last week getting ahead on schoolwork, so this week I was able to find some time to do some work for the company that I work for part-time. I also had a chemistry test, and got started on Voting with my partner.

What’s in your way?

Nothing is really in my way. Balancing work and life can be tough, but I think I’m doing a much better job of it recently than I did at the beginning of the school year.

What will you do next week?

Next week, I’m going to chip away at Voting with my partner. We’ve already dedicated time for two or three hours each day to work, so I’m not expecting us to get too stressed out with it.

What was your experience with exceptions, voting, and strcmp?

Most of the class material this week made sense to me. I haven’t done a whole lot of exception catching outside of JS, so it was interesting to see it done in C++ too. Voting looks like a fun project- aside from the fact that the problem itself seems fun to solve, it is also an interesting topic. Strcmp was pretty intuitive to me, as I think we wrote that function in Young’s 429 class.

What made you happy this week?

This week, I had a lot more free time than I expected, so I spent a lot of time outdoors. I signed up for a soccer tennis league (soccer on a tennis court- I didn’t know it existed until now either), so my partner and I have been practicing for that. Honestly, just getting a little variety in my life made things much more bearable for me.

What’s your tip-of-the-week?

My tip-of-the-week is to eat healthy, as much as possible. Last week, I was really stressed and ate out a lot, not only spending a lot of money but also filling my body with gross, heavy foods. This week, I went to the store and bought a giant box of frozen veggie burgers, which I grilled a few nights ago and have been eating them ever since. Not only are they filling and cheap, but they make me feel good, too!
