What did you do this past week?

This past week, I worked a lot on refining the data in my group’s database. During phase 2, much of the data within the our database was either incomplete or inconsistent, so I made it a priority to have it all updated early in this phase. After that, I worked on some assignments for other classes so that I’ll have time this week to focus on this class.

What’s in your way?

Currently, there isn’t much in my way. I have a lot of work due this week in a lot of different classes, so its been a little difficult to juggle everything. However, after this week, I think I’ll have some time to cool down before I graduate.

What will you do next week?

Next week, I plan on relaxing as much as possible. I have a lot of big assignments due on Thursday, and a research presentation due next Tuesday, so after all of that is done, I want to take five, so to speak.

What did you think of Paper 11: More on Getters and Setters?

I found this paper a little bit more difficult to follow than the previous paper on getters and setters. Overall, I felt that this paper probably should not have been separate from the one before it- it reinforced a lot of the same ideas, but in a more convoluted way.

What was your experience of select, project, and cross join?

I thought these operations were interesting and useful. It seems like it will be necessary to have a solid foundation in relational algebra if one is planning on using advanced SQL queries in their project.

What made you happy this week?

I’ve been playing a lot of guitar lately! I’ve really been enjoying picking songs up by ear, then adding interesting voicings to otherwise simple chords in order to see what works and what doesn’t.

What’s your tip-of-the-week?

My tip of the week is to try and get outside some! It’s not too hot out right now, the weather is going to be super nice for a few more weeks, hopefully. I’m hoping to go paddleboarding this week if I can find enough time, with the project and all.
